Record price for vintage Karmann Ghia

This is old news but I wanted to share it. I love this little car. We have had four Ghia's in my family. My parents owned one when I was 17 and I have owned three. I sold the last one almost 25 years ago and used the money for the down payment on my house. More on my Ghia's in a later post. If you own a Ghia or are just a fan drop me a line

Arcade Fire release Miroir Noir DVD

Miroir Noir follows Arcade Fire through the making and touring of their 2007 album Neon Bible, documenting the band at their Montreal studio, the making of promotional films and videos, along with live footage and a few short films made on the road.


The digital download and standard edition DVD feature the 70 minute film, Miroir Noir. The deluxe edition DVD contains bonus material including Arcade Fire's live performances on Jonathon Ross, Saturday Night Live, and at Maida Vale.

The standard and deluxe DVD versions of Miroir Noir are available for pre-order in advance of the April 7 release date. Your pre-order will include a code to instantly download the 70-minute film in the Merge store

Cleaning out my locker at work I found this Oakland Athletics Magazine from 1989. The cover shows a very young looking Mark McGwire. One of my coworkers knew that I was an A's fan and donated it to my collection.

While I'm looking for a new job (the last time was 25 years ago) I will be selling off some of my many collections. I decided, long before losing my job, if I start selling now I may get rid of it all before I die. I am a toy collector at heart. I think it comes from having very few toys as a youngster. My mom, a single working mother of five, had very little disposable income for toys.
